The speed format trims the pauses, not the rules. Betting windows last only a few seconds, cards are dealt face-up without the slow squeeze ritual, and results confirm instantly. The dealer gives two cards to the Player side and two to the Banker side; whichever total lands closer to nine wins. Tens and face cards count as zero, aces as one, and only the last digit of a total matters — seven plus eight makes five, not fifteen. The shoe holds eight decks and is reshuffled once the cut card appears.
The third-card rule: automatic, not optional
Unlike blackjack, baccarat asks nothing of you after the bet is placed. If either side opens with an eight or nine, the round ends on the spot.
